My senior husband is a big lover of ice cream. Although he doesn't indulge himself all the time, he does like to have some about a couple times a week. We have this really nice ice cream parlor just down the road from us that we can walk to. We will walk there and have a small amount then walk back and it makes us feel like we are 'walking' some of it off.

Everyone deserves a treat once in a while. I would make it a regular weekly outing. It would give you something to look forward to.

Your senior hubby sounds like mine. He dearly loves his ice cream but does try to watch how much he eats of it. Usually a few times a week and that's about it.

I have to admit that both my senior hubby and myself love ice cream. We also try not to eat it more then a couple times a week. We call it our weekly treat.
