Our home is in need of a lot of upgrading and we are unsure if we should just do some general clean up and try to sell it or go for a remodel. We are seniors in our early 60's and don't mind moving and just wondering if that might be better then trying to live around a lot of remodel work going on.

We are in the same age group as you, Reggie, and I know exactly what I'd do if I thought we could get a decent price for our house. We'd move into something smaller with far less upkeep. Remodeling does not take care of every problem in an older home. Seniors have little enough time as it is left to enjoy life. I want fewer trees, fewer house repairs and more time to play.

You have a point Stan but if you've lived in the same place all your life, moving is going to be harder than you think. Weight all the pros and cons before you decide Reggie.

That can be a big decision for a senior to make if they have lived in the home for many years. We have done some remodeling here and there over the years but I do think if we could get a nice price for our home that we would make the move to something smaller.

We had to make that decision a while back ourselves. Being seniors and having lived in our home for a long time, it was a tough decision but we decided to sell and move and leave the remodeling to some one else. We thought we might regret it but we didn't.
