I have a senior aunt who has been sneezing a lot and seems to be having allergies all of a sudden. She went to the doctor and he said he thought she might be allergic to cats. We thought this odd as she is in her late sixties and has had cats most of her life. Can something like this happen in your senior years?

That's what my doctor has told me. She said that the older we get, the more prone we are to allergies. It's like our body has overloaded and can't take the allergens any more so it reacts in the form of sneezing, itching, etc, etc. Becoming allergic to cats is highly possible.

Wow, that is really awful if she is a cat lover. I have never been allergic to animals and I hope I never become allergic to them. I mainly have allergies to pollen and all that outdoor stuff.

I have heard also that as you become older (seniors?) that you can develop allergies to things that may not have bothered you in the past. I hope that isn't the case with your senior aunt since she is a cat lover.
