I was wondering if anyone knew of something more natural to take for when your blood pressure is high but not excessively so. Something like some herbs or foods that are good to help lower it some. I really don't want to get on high blood pressure medicine if I can take care of it some other way.

I know a lady who had high blood pressure. She took Hawthorne Berry and her blood pressure is normal now. My doctor said exercise will also bring blood pressure down.

I think I have heard of that PaPaw. And yes, exercise does help and there are also some foods that you can eat that helps to lower blood pressure. I'm with you though, anything that I can do on a more natural level, then I'm willing to try so that I wouldn't have to take some of those meds out there.

You really shouldn't mess around with high blood pressure. If your doctor prescribes medicine for it, the benefits far outweigh the down side.

Not necessarily Andy. My Dr. just put me on a second BP medication and it's got me totally wiped out and now I have caught a nasty cold or flu or something. I think we will have a chat about this at my next appt.

To maintain a healthy heart, garlic and fish oil are good. But that is just to maintain it. You should still get regular check-ups and listen to what your doctor says, if you have a problem.
