A study conducted by the University of Colorado Cancer Center revealed that silibinin, a milk thistle extract, can help protect against UV-induced skin cancer. Apparently, the extract has the ability to repair or kill cells that have been affected by UV radiation.

That's awesome. I wonder if this be the case for someone who has been in the tanning bed all their life? Where did you find this Lola? I would like to read it.

I would like to read more about this, as well. I wonder how they can tell if a skin cancer is caused by UV exposure and not something else. Another thing that comes to mind would be if the milk thistle extract helps other forms of skin cancer.

This is good news. I hope that scientists will be able to test the effect of silibinin on UV-damaged cells in humans and eventually come up with a functional treatment.
