When my mother-in-law was living with us, we had to remember to put baby gates up throughout the house every night because she was a sleep walker. We didn't want he to fall down the steps and get hurt. Have you dealt with anything like this before?

My cousin's mother had Alzheimer's and eventually came to live with my cousin, whose bedrooms were at the top of an open stairs in a log-cabin style house. She tried baby gates, which worked for awhile. She eventually had to tie her mother's wrist to a small cord she tied to her own wrist and sleep in the same bed with her mom. At least if her mom got up during the night, she was able to wake up, too. I think if I had a sleepwalking problem, I might tie a rope to myself, too, before I risked falling down a flight of stairs.
