They found her the next day in the woods close to her home but it was too late. Baby gates and alarms might have helped. Don't you think?

I hear on the news often about a person with alzheimer's wandering off from home and being lost for hours and sometimes days. Sometimes it is a happy ending but most of the time not. I guess you need to take all the precautions needed to help keep them safe.

LaVita OFFLINE Expert Boarder Posts: 126 Karma: 0	Oh, this is such a sad story to hear. People with Alzheimer's experience disorientation so they may wander away. I guess here are gadgets that can be attached to these individuals to be able to track them particularly when they move about aimlessly.

TLC OFFLINE Gold Boarder Posts: 262 Karma: 0	Families of Alzheimer's patients should exercise extra safety measures because people with this disease are not far from leaving their homes and wandering. I think there are GPS devices that can be attached to the patient to sort of monitor them.
